Yesterday, Citoyen Optimum won two awards at the Prix d’excellence de la Société québécoise des professionnels en relations publiques (SQPRP): a Gold Award in the tactical sphere of the inauguration for Rio Tinto Alcan‘s Arvida Aluminium Smelter, AP60 Technology Centre, and a Silver Award in the strategic sphere for the « super-beam » operation on the Champlain Bridge.

Gold Award in the Events Category

« The organisation of the inauguration event presented several challenges for which we found creative solutions,’’says Myriam Crevier, Senior Director, Corporate Communications at Citoyen Optimum. Holding the event inside the new aluminum smelter created several constraints, moreover, our scenario included the participation of several employees and partners around the world. « In total, more than 300 guests including business leaders, the Premier of Quebec and several ministers from the provincial and federal levels attended the inauguration held in January.

Silver Award in the Crisis Management and Communications Category

« The support of Citoyen Optimum in terms of policy advice and coordination has been a key factor in managing communications issues inherent to the crisis,’’ stated Jean-Vincent Lacroix, Director of Corporate Communications, for the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI). Their integrated approach has served us well, both in dealing with the media as well as in our digital communications. The » super-beam « operation was launched after discovering a crack in a beam of the Champlain Bridge last fall.
