Nick Cowling, president of Citizen Relations Global, is pleased to announce the appointment of François Vaqué as the agency’s Quebec executive director and senior vice president. After three years as vice president, public relations and corporate affairs, François will take on the role of executive director while continuing to oversee the team’s corporate mandates.
“François Vaqué brings an impressive background, but more importantly, a management style that is in line with Citizen’s values, vision and mission. He has in-depth expertise in strategic communications, public affairs and governance, excellent knowledge of the Quebec market’s realities, which are key assets for our employees, clients and our organization, especially in the current environment. We are pleased François has agreed to lead the Citizen Quebec office and take it to the next level.” says Nick Cowling, Global President of Citizen Relations.

François Vaqué honed his strategic leadership skills over a 20-year career in strategic communications that includes a period as global vice president of marketing and communications for international audit firm KPMG. Known for innovative, effective strategies, François is an external/internal corporate communications and crisis management specialist who meets and surpasses objectives. His renowned expertise makes him a media favourite to discuss and analyze crisis and reputation management issues, a field where his input is seen as the gold standard. One of François’ key strengths is his exceptional skill as an influencer and negotiator, a reason his strategic consulting succeeds so well in bringing together and building consensus among diverse stakeholders.

As executive director and senior vice president, François will be tasked with promoting Citizen Relations in the Quebec market for the national and international team. He’ll also help advance the organization’s vision and ensure its continued growth while motivating and inspiring a client-driven team.

“I’m proud and excited to have accepted a senior management role with Citizen Relations in Quebec. Our national and worldwide network, our V7 Group sister firms like Cossette, and—most importantly—our outstanding, diverse, and talented workforce make us a leader in the communications and PR industry. Communications are also more important now than ever as firms and organizations face not only COVID but major changes in technology, sustainable development, and social responsibility. I look forward to putting my years of experience to use and will work tirelessly with all stakeholders to help our clients meet their challenges and grow so we can celebrate their successes with them.” – François Vaqué

François is highly active in his community. He has been a member of and continues to serve on various boards of directors, including as chair of the board of Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal.
